The faith secretariat was formed in March 2011 by SAFCEI, EJN, IPACC, NCA, and Diakonia to manage the logistics and preparations for the faith people and organisations coming in to Durban for COP 17 in November 2011. The secretariat is funded by local and international church-based organisations and runs through Diakonia Council of Churches.
